It’s a real shame to lose some really big names in the Oracle particularly House of Fraser which has been there a long time but we’re very happy to be here and we’ve got lots of brands that aren’t stocked anywhere in Reading.

More recently the site of M&S has been empty since the store relocated to Sears Retail Park in June 2021, just up the road, and even more recently House of Fraser, know to everyone as Beatties, also closed in August this year.

Robert Cort Properties Limited has been given permission to knock down the Fraser Centre, a combined office and warehouse building in Faraday Road in Dorcan industrial estate which was used by the House of Fraser retail group.

The House of Fraser space at the south eastern corner of the mall is to become a huge co-working space, called Ministry, operated by the same company that runs the Ministry of Sound nightclub in Elephant & Castle.
